The Lumière Gazette is an online media platform on Facebook that shares its news and views surrounding arts and culture. It derives its name from the French word “lumiere” meaning “light”, to signify bringing these stories into the limelight.
The name Lumiere also commemorates the Lumiere brothers, Auguste and Louis, who created the first motion picture, La Sortie des ouvriers de l’usine Lumière (“Workers Leaving the Lumière Factory”) in 1895.
Its posts and contents are brought to you by third-year Journalism students from the University of Santo Tomas.
